Trampoline Safety

Trampolining is fun, but accidents do happen if you don’t follow basic rules.

Adult supervision is really important, along with guidelines for safe play. Always use a trampoline net which can be properly closed.

Have a look below to find out more information so you have a great time and learn how to bounce with style!

Ready to bounce and have some fun?

  1. Bounce in the middle on the cross – that’s important.
  2. Only one person on at a time – that’s REALLY important.
  3. Bounce only if an adult is there – that’s REALLY REALLY important.
  4. Stop bouncing before you get off – yes, I know it sounds obvious but…it’s REALLY REALLY REALLY important.
  5. Don’t do somersaults  – it’s an Olympic sport you know!- so that’s REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY important.

Trampoline accidents are going down, but injuries are still happening

Where is the best place to put a trampoline?

  • It should be placed on a level surface.
  • It must be away from other play structures, trees, fences and shrubs.
  • If possible, it is best to create a pit for the trampoline to sit on, so the canvas is at ground level.
  • Can you see the trampoline clearly from the house?

Trampoline safety

  • Youngsters should remove all jewellery.
  • Long hair should be tied back.
  • Wear thick socks.
  • Long sleeved tops and tracksuit bottoms can prevent friction burns.
  • All trampolining should be supervised by an adult.
  • Spotters need to be in place around the trampoline edge.
  • Enclosures can help prevent injury.

Pre-trampoline checks

  • Dry the trampoline before use.
  • Check under the frame pads to ensure that all hooks are attached to the bed an are all pointing downwards.
  • Ensure that all springs are covered by the frame pads.
  • Make sure there is nothing under or near the trampoline.
